Sinusitis, commonly referred to as a sinus infection, is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses. It can be caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, allergies, or structural issues such as nasal polyps or deviated septum. A blocked nose can be attributed to various reasons such as nasal polyps, deviated nasal septum, sinusitis, common cold, adenoid hypertrophy, nasal allergies, hypertrophic turbinate, and exostosis. The nose can be partially or completely blocked and it can be blocked in one side or both the sides. The nose can also be blocked in isolation or in conjunction or alteration with nasal discharges. The instant reaction when a person has a blocked nose is to pop in over-the-counter pills or take a nasal spray, but the relief if any is just temporary. There can be a relapse even after you think you are out of the blocked nose phase.

Symptoms: Nasal congestion or blockage. Facial pain or pressure, particularly around the eyes, nose, and forehead. Headache, often worsening with bending forward or lying down. Thick, discolored nasal discharge. Postnasal drip, leading to throat irritation and cough. Reduced sense of smell and taste. Fatigue and malaise.

Treatment: Conventional treatment includes antibiotics, decongestants, nasal corticosteroids, pain relievers, nasal drops. Homeopathic remedies used considering individual manifestations. 

Composition:  Aconitum napellus, Bryonia alba, Allium cepa, Lemna minor, Calcarea carbonica, Arsenicum album, Formica rufa, Natrum muriaticum, Thuja occidentalis, Antimonium tartaricum,  Teucreum marum verum.

Action: Frontal headache. Nasal blockage and thick discharge. Pain at root of nose. Sore throat & cough. Nasal polyp.

Dose: Adult: 15 drops two times daily. Child: -10 drops two times daily. In acute condition dose may be repeated every half an hour interval.
